Her work is easily recognizable for its vibrancy, distinct style, and conceptual figurative forms. With a background in psychology, she explores themes of identity, the balance between nature and nurture, and how it determines human behavior.
Bayley’s recent works are mostly influenced by her personal experience and the search for an evolved sense of self and identity. It comprises various sizes of acrylic and mixed-media paintings on canvas and paper.
Sheila has a deep connection and passion for the development of Art in East Africa, and dreams of creating a system of education that is centered around Art, as a life skill and career.
In 2021, she was the guest artist – at the Seven Artist Open Studio Art Sale & Exhibition at Kobo Trust, Nairobi. In 2023, She had her first solo exhibition at the Peponi Hotel, Lamu, and her major international group show in Geneva, Switzerland with Gallery Brulhart in the same year.
Her artworks are part of private collections locally and internationally in Zanzibar, Miami, New York, Paris, UAE, and Australia. With an advancing career, she is open to both local and international collaboration opportunities, residency, and exhibition programs.
